Preventive care is beneficial to patients of all ages and should begin as early as possible. It is essential that all members of your family are educated in the techniques required to maintain good oral health. Our Oral Health Provider delivers each one of our patients with a careful individual assessment of their risk factors for dental disease, and a clear and simple explanation of the correct ways to maintain your teeth and gums in excellent health.
Our top preventive tips, which can help keep your teeth and gums healthy include;
- Use a soft toothbrush with rounded bristles.
- Replace your toothbrush every three to four months.
- Brush twice daily.
- Use toothpaste with fluoride.
- Floss once daily.
- Avoid tobacco products.
- Avoid excessive alcohol use.
- Visit our Oral Health Therapist every 6 months depending on their recommendation.
Your Preventive Care appointment with our Oral Health Therapist will include;
- Removal of all soft plaque
- Removal of hard plaque ( known as calculus)
- Surface stain removal
- Remineralisation treatments
- Oral hygiene education & instruction- tailored to the individual
- Regular screening for Periodontitis ( gum disease)
- Screening for overall dental health
